Custom columns
Track exactly what your business cares about
Allyos comes with the basics most teams need out of the box, like name, email, and phone. But every business is different, so you can build custom columns to track exactly what matters to you.
What you can track
When you add a new column, you choose what kind of information it holds:
- Text: A quick note, a job title, or a reference number.
- Number: A deal size, a budget, or a headcount.
- Date: A renewal date, a birthday, or a deadline.
- Select and Multi-Select: A list of choices you define, like tagging a status as Lead, Active, or Lost.
- Member: Tag a specific teammate in your workspace who is responsible for the record.
- Relationship: This connects two entirely different objects together. For example, if you need to link a Person to a Company, or a custom Deal object to a Property, you use a Relationship column to build that bridge. When you create one, you also choose how the two sides relate: One to one (each record links to exactly one other), One to many (one record links to several), Many to one (several records point back to one), or Many to many (records on both sides can link to multiple records on the other).
Global vs. Group Columns
As we covered earlier, you can create most of these columns either globally (so the data sticks to the record everywhere) or locally inside a specific Group (so it only appears for that specific workflow).
There is one important exception: Relationship columns are always Global.
Because connecting two objects together (like linking John Smith to Acme Corp) is a fundamental piece of your data, that connection needs to be true everywhere across your entire workspace, not just inside one specific group.
Next: group your data into the workflows you'll use every day.
